1st Graders:
Our 1st grade class is at the halfway point in their Raceway reading, writing and spelling program. With the kindergarteners, they have learned the countries of South America, the 50 states of the US and the 7 continents and 4 oceans. On the math side, they are now adding 2 digit numbers such as 40 + 25 = 65. Hooray for them!
2nd Graders:
Since mid-November, the 2nd graders have been writing in cursive! They are very happy to show their parents & older siblings this accomplishment. The class is 2 weeks ahead in math curriculum and ready to start multiplication in the next couple of weeks.
In the middle of January, they will begin a reading journal and occasional library trips. To reinforce their reading skill, students also read selected passages from the Bhagavad Gita. This develops fine intellect!
