There’s nothing like a fresh, homemade meal, cooked lovingly from scratch. Unfortunately, it’s almost a disappearing art. Our students are fortunate to be taught this important skill directly by Kalachandji’s Chef, Manjuali Devi. As head cook of all community events for decades, her expertise in understanding the quality of each spice, how they affect digestion and flavor is unparalleled.

The students gain a deep understanding of the different methods of cooking, loads of valuable tips, and true love for this art, which nourishes the body, mind, and soul. At the end, they taste each prep they made. They leave the year with a collection of tested recipes and the confidence to make nutritious vegetarian meals.
