As part of our Elementary Biology unit on Plants, 3rd and 4th grade students investigated the parts of a flower.  The week was started with a beautiful story of Lord Jagannath accepting a less-than-perfect flower offering.  It sparked great conversations with the students.  You can read the story here.

They dissected the different parts of a flower, finding flowers in their backyards or during their nature walks. Did you know a flower has female parts and male parts?  Here’s the Parts of the Flower craft they made.

You can pick a flower from your backyard and do the same with your children!  Here’s a tutorial shared with our students.

Below Veda and Aradhya share their flower discoveries.
