Our History
In 1972, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada came to America from India bringing with him an ancient culture, Vishnavism. This way of life was introduced first on the west coast but quickly spread throughout the United States and beyond. The philosophy taught in the school is derived from the teachings found in the Bhagavad-Gita As It Is.
The day school is located on the same block as the Hare Krishna temple and restaurant but is operated independently. This location has been the home of the school for the past twenty years. One is not required to be a member of the temple or share all the beliefs of the philosophy in order to be enrolled at the school. Faculty members are also not required to be an initiated member of the community.
