Our Mission
TKG Academy exists to instill in students an increased awareness of, and appreciation for, virtuous and responsible character, a quality of any person pursuing genuine spirituality. Providing academic training equivalent to, or exceeding, the local school system is the goal of the Academy. The school strives to guide students to become productive, responsible citizens who understand that this world is made up of diverse people and beliefs. The non-violent humanitarian program of the school extends into its requirements that while on campus, students refrain from eating meat and that they do not cause pain to any of God’s creatures. Training, knowledge and guidance are ever present as the goal of this institution.
Curriculum
Students in K-3 grades, concentrate on the skills of reading, writing, spelling and math. Emphasis is given to developing acceptable social interaction, good listening skills and learning to follow directions. Kindergarten is a half-day program.
Students in 4th through 8th grades learn basic academics including math, science, social studies, grammar and literature. Other courses that are studied are mapping skills, logic, spelling, vocabulary skills, religion, handwriting, cooking class, yoga, mediation and art.
Curriculum that is selected will expand the mind without contaminating the soul. Some of the books used are from secular publishers while most are from home schooling book companies.
